Track & Field News magazine (Palo Alto, California) on 30. December published its annual world rankings for the 2016 outdoor season. Ruth Jebet, who in the past year became Olympic champion and new world record holder in the 3000m Steeplechase, as expected earned the No. 1 ranking in her event. A total of twelve Personae-managed athletes received world top-10 honors in their respective events.

Six Personae-managed athletes were recently recognized as the year’s top or promising athletes by their national track & field federation or sports press association, respectively.

Martin Kosgey’s 2nd place helped Kenya sweep the top-3 positions in Marathon Frankfurt on 30-October.

Marius Kimutai established himself among the world’s marathon elite with his 3rd place and personal best time of 2:05:47 at the TCS Amsterdam Marathon on 16-October.

The runner-up performances of Kipyegon Bett and Ann Zagre led the contingent of Personae-managed athletes competing at the IAAF Diamond League finale in Brussels on 9-September.

Ruth Jebet, already Rio Olympic Champion and 3000m steeplechase world record setter this season, achieved the 2016 “Triple” of Track & Field by clinching the Diamond League points race with her victory at the Weltklasse meeting in Zurich on 1-Sep.

After two close misses earlier in the season, Ruth Jebet lowered the women’s 3000m Steeplechase world record by more than 6 seconds at the Diamond League meeting in Paris on 27 August.

Medalists Ruth Jebet and Eunice Kirwa produced the top performances among the 25 Personae-managed athletes competing at the ’16 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Albert Rop’s 7th place in the Rio Olympic Games 5000m final on 20-August was a career-best finish in global championship competition.
