Cheroben narrowly misses world-leading 10 km mark in Utrecht

While Abraham Cheroben in the past year has already established himself as one of history’s top performers in the half marathon (58:48 = all-time world no. 5) and 25 km (1:11:46 = all-time work no. 4), the Utrecht race produced his first world-class result over the 10 km distance, ranking Cheroben 2nd behind Stephen Sambu‘s 27:30 (Great Manchester 10 km) on the event’s ’15 world chart.  Cheroben in Utrecht again established a large margin of victory (Philip Langat 2nd in 28:02), as he did back in May when taking his second straight Berlin Big 25 km title with the ’15 world leading time of 1:12:31 (Desmegen Daba 2nd in 1:13:38).

Other Personae-managed athletes with noteworthy performances on the roads during September included Bashir Abdi (6th – South Shields Great North Half Marathon in 1:02:06 personal best/’15 Europe no. 5 and 7th – Zaandam Dam-tot-Damloop 10 Miles in 46:40 personal best); Veerle Dejaeghere (5th – Tilburg 10 km in 32:28 personal best/’15 Europe no. 7 and 16th – Berlin Marathon in 2:31:56 personal best/all-time Belgium no. 6); Bornes Jepkirui Kitur (2nd – Marathon Shengyang in 2:33:00 personal best); and Gesa Krause (2nd – Tubingen 10 km in 33:34).
