2025 World Championships Tokyo – Day 3: Querinjean finishes 10th in men’s Steeplechase final, while Yavi and Krause (women’s Steeplechase) and Cheruiyot and Tshite (1500m) advance to their event finals

Day 3 of the ’25 Track & Field World Championships in Tokyo saw seven Golazo-managed athletes in action, with one of them competing in a final, while four others secured spots in their respective event finals.

In a tactical and slow men’s 3000m Steeplechase final, Ruben Querinjean placed 10th with a time of 8:37.49, less than 3 seconds out of a podium spot.  While not his best performance, Querinjean had an outstanding season, which included winning the Memorial van Damme Steeplechase in a personal best and Luxembourg record of 8:09.47.  This time ranks him 4th among Europeans and 13th in the world this season.  In the women’s 3000m Steeplechase heats, defending world champion Winfred Yavi won her heat (9:15.03), while Gesa Krause placed 4th (9:16.76), with both advancing to the final.  In the men’s 1500m semi-finals, Reynold Cheruiyot Kipkorir won his section (3:36.64), while Tshepo Tshite placed 6th (3:36.93), with both advancing to the final.

Other Golazo-managed athletes in action on Day 3 included Pauline Couckuyt, 4th in her 400m Hurdles heat (55.08) and advancing to the semi-final round, and Olivia Gurth, 6th in her 3000m Steeplechase heat (9:15.28), just 0.22 out the final-qualifying 5th place.
