Day 7 of the ’25 Track & Field World Championships in Tokyo featured just one event with five Golazo-managed athletes involved – the women’s 800m semi-final round – from which two advanced to the final.
In the first section of the women’s 800m semi-finals, defending world champion Mary Moraa took the lead early and never relinquished it, finishing 1st in controlled fashion with a time of 1:58.40 and advancing to Day 9’s final.
In the third section of the women’s 800m semi-finals, Sarah Moraa had to deal with a faster-paced race. She stayed back in the pack for most of the race, until surging in the closing stretch, moving from 5th to finishing 2nd in a personal best time of 1:57.53, and advancing to Day 9’s final.
Also competing in the women’s 800m semi-finals were Oratile Nowe, 4th in her section (1:58.43); Tsige Duguma, 5th in her section (1:57.70); and Worknesh Mesele, 9th in her section (2:00.91).
