Day 4 of the ’25 Track & Field World Championships in Tokyo saw six Golazo-managed athletes in action, with two of them competing in event finals, while four others secured spots in their event semi-final round.
In the women’s 1500m final, Freweyni Hailu placed 5th with a time of 3:57.33. Her 5th place equals the previous highest finish by an individual Golazo athlete so far in Tokyo (Ejgayehu Taye, 5th in women’s 10000m final). Hailu was a consistent top performer in both middle distance and distance races this outdoor season, with best times of 14:19.33 in the 5000m and 3:56.30 in the 1500m, ranking her 4th and 10th in the world over those distances, respectively. During this year’s indoor season, Hailu captured the 3000m world championship gold medal, while her fastest indoor 3000m time (8:19.98) also ranked her no. 1 in the world. In the men’s High Jump final, Thomas Carmoy cleared 2.20m for 11th place.
In other action on Day 4, all four Golazo-managed athletes competing in the men’s 800m advanced out of their respective heats and into the semi-final round as follows: Tshepiso Masalela, 2nd in 1:44.74; Kethobogile Haingura, 3rd in 1:45.02; Nicholas Kiplangat Kebenei, 4th in 1:44.91; and Eliott Crestan, 5th in 1:45.02.
